10,000 Hours

My friend Eric offered a thought-provoking post a couple of days ago on the observation that it takes approximately 10,000 hours of doing something to become an expert at it. So many implications . . .

Here's a link to his post: Ten Thousand

does that mean I have to give 10,000 sermons before I'm an expert at it? Crap! If I preach for one hour a week - it would take 192 years to become an expert...and I like 30 minute sermons...which is 384 years.
I think that math is right!

Thanks for the link Andy!

Sharon, I think you can short cut that to include preparing to preach, listening to other preachers, and other speaking engagements...That out to cut it down to only 100 years. :)
